مآخذ تاریخی نامهای موسی و یوسف

نام موسی بر گرفته از نام میثه (میثره) خدای عهد و پیمان میتانیها می باشد که در نام فراعنهٔ مصر کاموسه و اهموسه دیده میشود. میتانیها در حدود سال ۱۶۰۰ پیش از میلاد از مصر سفلی به سوریه بر گشتند و این فرصتی به مصریها داد تا رعایای سامی هیکسوسها (حاکمان خارجی) را از مصر اخراج کنند.

نام یوزارسیف (یوسف) متعلق به مادیای اسکیتی و اسکیتان شهر اسکیتوپل (بیت شئان اسرائیل) است که حدود سال ۶۲۰ پیش از میلاد از فرعون پسامتیک خراج گرفته بودند.

The name Moses is derived from the name of the Mitanni covenant god Mitha/Mithra, who appears in the names of the Egyptian pharaohs Kamose and Ahmose. The Mitanni returned from Lower Egypt to Syria around 1600 BC, which gave the Egyptians the opportunity to expel the Semitic Hyksos subjects from Egypt.

The name Yuzarsif (yusef) belongs to the Scythian Madiya and the Scythians of Scythopol (Beit Shean in Israel), who received tribute from the pharaoh Psamtik around 620 BC.
