اتیمولوژی زُحل و کیوان
نظر به معنی دوردست نام سیاره زُحل عربی، معنی هندوایرانی نام آن، کیوان به معنی دور درخشنده (معادل وننت و ویوسوت) بوده است:
Zohal: From the root ز ح ل (z-ḥ-l) meaning “to be distant or remote”, “to linger away from others”; so called as it is the furthest and has the slowest orbital period of the classical seven heavenly bodies (counting the Sun and the Moon, without the inclusion of Earth).
Keywan: From Middle Persian kywʾn’ (kēwān), ultimately from Akkadian 𒊕𒍑 (SAG. UŠ /kaiamānu, kayamānu, kajamānu/, “Saturn”, literally “regular, usual, steady, staying, abiding always”
